Buon giorno!

The fettucine looks great. The pizza shop selections are so varied...which one(s) did you try?

The painting/ huge mural in the nave of the church looks beautiful also...can you capture a picture of it?

What does Popolo mean?

So many interesting things...thanks for sharing!!!

In the communes of 13th century italy, pressure groups (made up "of the people", ie, non-nobles) were formed to "protect" the interests of commoners (more likely wealthy businessmen & merchants who could afford to participate in this up-rising) against the noblemen who had, up until this point, exclusively controlled the politics of the communes (states). In the late 13th century Popolo was one of the groups that achieved success in overthrowing noble rule of several city/states in Italy. "Popolo" should not be mistaken for "Babo", who is both "for the people" and of nobility.
