I fixed some great fritters for breakfast,used chick pea flour,rissotto,parsely,eggs,cheese.
I went to old part of city saw some great old buildings from the 1700's.
The kitty cat in the building I live in came to greet me.
Their seems to be a lot of purple in the spring fashions.
Their was a song someone from Trapani wrote to President Obama, they showed it on TV. It was accompanied by an accordian!

Hi!

I wonder if you have noticed something called La Passegiata?

"The evening stroll is one of the great Italian traditions. The whole town comes out.
Remarkably, it happens every night. No one wants to miss it. Great quantities of wine, coffee, ice cream, and pastries are consumed, like a spontaneous street festival. You should notice where people congregate and then join in." - paraphrased from IFTGT by Fred Plotkin

Hi!

Here's some more information:

Museo del Sale Trapani
Saline di Trapani

Eno Museum
Contrada Berbero
The wine museum in Trapani

"Salt is not kept in a shaker but a salieri. An abundance of salt = wild extravagance"

"In Italy, la ciolatta calda in tazza is thick and strong, almost like a pudding." That's why you got 3 cups of hot chocolate from one spoonful!

"Sagra della Sfogliatelle (Campania): at the convent of Santa Rosa, above the Hotel Santa Caterina, the sfogliatelle was invented. Celebrated every Aug 22."

"Sagra: a festival with ancient roots both in pagan culture and Christianity. The idea is to thank the Deities for food."

Hi!

More info:

"Sicilian life is full of color and spectacle, as is evident in the religious observances at Easter and the medieval puppet shows in Palermo."

"Lazio (Roma province) people like to eat day-by-day. There are certain days of the week in which most people eat particular foods. It's not that they HAVE to, but the tradition has become so comfortable that they wouldn't think NOT to.
Example:
Tues = fish or bollito mist
Thurs = gnocchi
Fri = cod or psata coi ceci [pasta with chickpeas]
Sat = tripe
Sun = pork or lamb"

"Only in 1954 did Italia republic acquire the composition that it has today."

"The ice cream of Sicilia is, at best, poetry in the mouth."

"No antipasti in Sicilia. Snacks of fry shops serve as antipasti."

"Beef and veal are rare. Goat and lamb prized. Chicken and rabbit the most common [land] animal protein in Sicilia."

from IFTGT

Hope you are well!
