Today I saw this antique boat collection. Then I heard a band, so I followed the music, it was a procession with one of the floats for Good Friday. It was from the town of Pacheco, about 30 miles from Trapani.
I worked my way to the front of the band, there I saw the float, with men carrying it. I went up next to the float and walked with them through the streets, I was walking with the policeman. I think they thought I was part of the group. There were hundreds of people linning the streets, also it was being filmed.

Hi!
Buon Giorno!
Sounds exciting! Looks alot like the Mikoshi Matsuri portable shrines in Japan, only in Japan the men shake the portable shrine up and down and spin it around, etc.
Read in the paper that there are 150 dead in the central Italia earthquake. It was the biggest one in 30 years. Richter scale approx 6; that's a pretty big one.
You must really be a fast walker these days if you can keep up with the front of the parade!

Hi!
I have a question: have you ever had Italian food that uses fresh MINT in it, like you would basil? I saw a recipe for it but I'm afraid to try it.
From "Lords of Italy":
CARROCCIO = an emblem of civic pride, an enormous wagon pulled by oxen, with 4 wheels and a great mast all painted red, with the brightly decorated flags and banners of the city.
First used in Milan in 1093..."this carroccio was used by our forefathers in triumphant processions and on high [holy] occasions..."
