Today was a great food day, I made Christmas eve pasta , with fresh tomatoes, olives, capers, rasins and pine nuts. I ate it without taking picture. This afternoon I bought a wooden rolling pin and a pasta cutter for 1 Euro each ($1.40). I made fettacini Alfredo, with fresh butter, fresh thick cream, and romano cheese.Total cost of ingredients was about 2 Euros. From start to finish including clean up 1 hour and a half.

Hi!
Wow I love all the stuff you posted! I really appreciate the pics of how to make the pasta step by step. It is also fun to see the pkg of how the items look when you buy it in a store.
To me that is one of the most fun things about travelling abroad, seeing the supermarkets and all the different kinds of packaging than you would see at home...

Hi!
I read a bit about the area where the earthquake was:
A. One online article said a scientist thought there would be a major earthquake there based on how radon was increasing in the area.
So he went around in a truck with loudspeaker warning everybody since no city officials would listen to him. They claimed people will just become upset.
Then they arrested him for disturbing the peace when he still went around warning everyone. That was on "Question Authority" website or something like that.
B. Another thing I read is the region where it happened, Abruzzo:
a) the word Italia comes from a type of indigenous tribe of people from Abruzzo called the Itali. So if anyone is truly Italian, it is them. [Plotkin]
b) Abruzzo is where deCecco products come from, the pasta is good because the water is so pure there. [ibid]
When I didn't hear from you for a day, I thought you went there to check out the earthquake or something!!!

Hi!
Also in Abruzzo they give thanks to God for everything once a year with a huge 30 course meal over 3 days.
On day one have ten types of food, on day two ten selections of all grasso [fatty] foods, on day three another repast of a different ten types of food.
Then they drink Centerbe ["thousand herbs"] as a digestiv!
This began in pre-Christian era. The author said, "Can you imagine if St Francis of Assisi honor his spirituality with 30 course meal?"
These local pictures of the Trapani festival preparations are so cute: one little boy looking right at you and smiling; another man in the crowd looked so blissful [in an earlier batch of photos]...
I'm glad you are able to enjoy nature, small town, ancient celebrations, and share your food preps with us in the old Italia - old Abruzzo style.
Glad you are back online again...
