March 14,2009

I wanted to get out of the city and see countryside. I noticed , by looking at the bus stops, that it seemed old people did not pay any fare. I went to a bus stop and took at bus , I had no idea where it was going. It went northeast , it was a beautiful ride ,through the countryside. I noticed a old man got on when I did, he talked to the driver most of the time.
Four teenage girls got on when I did, they sat together and talked for awhile, then two of them got off. The other two rode to the end of the line, about 30 miles out of the city, they did not get off their, they stayed on and got off on the way back, near where they friends got off.
An old man got on about twenty minutes on the way out, he stayed on at the turn around and rode back into Trapani. The bus went through about 6 small villages, and past some farmlands, with articokes growing, also their where vineyards, pastures with cows and horses. Some ladies from the viilages took the bus into Trapani, probably to shop.
When I came back to my apartment, their was a confortation with two workers from the pastry shop, a women started pushing a man, another worked stepped in. They yelled, with lots of hand motions. I took a picture from above them on my stairway.

Their has been a mosquito in my apartment, sometimes at night he buzzes me, at first I tried to swat him, but now I don't want to hurt my friend.

I had Christmas eve angelhair pasta for breakfast, had pasta fagoli for lunch, and my style hotdogs with tomato sauce and pasta for supper.
I went shopping today because most food stores are closed on Sunday, I bought, pork chops, sausage, rapani, bell pepper, zucchini, big sweet blood oranges, lemons and tomatoes.
When I was walking by my favorite vegetable stand , I saw some beautiful wild mushrooms they had, I picked a large one up gave it to the man, he looked at me smiled said just take no charge.

I was watching some fun sports on TV today, they had motorcyle racing, soccer, basketball, and rugby.

are you certain the mushroom vendor said, "no charge"?..or could he have said, "not for eating?"...either way, I bet you said "Si" and "Grazie", just like a good Moroccan.

Hi!

I was so worried about you being all alone some place miles from anywhere...so it's very comforting to learn about all these instances of human kindness. Thanks for taking the time to share it!
